How trash is cleared from the International Space Station
In short: This video examines the conclusion of a critical supply mission, detailing how cargo vehicles like the Cygnus craft deliver essential supplies and eventually clear out orbital waste.
The Orbital/ATK Cygnus cargo craft, also known as the 'SS Deke Slayton II', recently completed its mission to the International Space Station. After delivering nearly four tons of supplies to the station's residents, the vehicle was repurposed to carry trash back to Earth. On February 20, the craft was scheduled for a controlled deorbit, leading to a destructive re-entry into the atmosphere over the Pacific Ocean.
