The 2026 campaign represents a significant milestone for the franchise, which is currently competing in its twenty-ninth season within the Women's National Basketball Association. This year marks the fifth consecutive season under the leadership of head coach Becky Hammon, who has guided the team through its ongoing tenure in Nevada. The franchise originally relocated to Las Vegas after previous stints based in Utah and San Antonio, establishing a new identity that has become a staple of the city's sports culture.
During the regular season, the Aces demonstrated their dominance in the Western Conference, securing a 6–1 record. This performance was pivotal in their path to the WNBA Commissioner's Cup championship game, as the team successfully clinched the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Minnesota Lynx. While the team showed consistent strength throughout the lead-up to the final, they were unable to secure the title, losing the championship game to the New York Liberty.
Beyond the court action, the season was punctuated by the annual draft, which took place on April 13, 2026. The event, held at 7:30 pm EDT, was broadcast to fans via ESPN, highlighting the continued growth and visibility of the league. As the franchise looks toward the future, the 2026 season serves as a testament to the team's enduring presence in the league and their ability to remain a top contender in a highly competitive conference.
