In short: Formed in 2007 by combining two local clubs, Solihull Moors has climbed from the sixth tier to become a persistent National League contender. From a ground shared with a Land Rover plant to a dedicated fan base known as The Number 2 Crew, the club defines modern community-focused football.

Solihull Moors F.C. emerged in 2007 following the merger of Moor Green and Solihull Borough. The new entity began its journey in the Conference North, the sixth tier of English football. The early years were marked by instability, including a revolving-door transfer policy and the tragic passing of long-time manager Bob Faulkner in 2011. Despite these challenges, the club gradually professionalized its infrastructure, particularly after 2014, when the number of youth and junior teams expanded from 3 to 27.

The club's rise to the National League was cemented in 2016 under manager Marcus Bignot, who led the team to the National League North title with 85 points. Since reaching the fifth tier, the Moors have become a regular fixture in the promotion conversation. Their best league finish occurred in the 2018–19 season, when they secured second place with 86 points. However, the club has faced repeated heartbreak in the play-offs, losing finals to Grimsby Town in 2022 and Bromley in 2024, the latter decided on penalties at Wembley Stadium.

The home ground, Damson Park, sits adjacent to a Land Rover car plant and reflects the club's unique character. It features a mix of seating and hard standing, including the 'Jerroms Stand' and a section popular with a fan group nicknamed 'The Number 2 Crew'. Beyond the men's team, the facility has hosted Birmingham City Women since 2014. While the club has yet to secure promotion to the Football League, its evolution from a local merger to a high-performing National League side remains a significant achievement in the English football pyramid.
