The knockout specialist rewriting the record books in the UFC lightweight division
In short: Drew Dober has become a defining force in the UFC lightweight division. Known for his devastating striking, he has set a new divisional benchmark for knockouts, proving that precision and power can overcome even the most unexpected setbacks in the octagon.
Since turning professional in 2009, Drew Dober has carved out a reputation as one of the most dangerous finishers in the UFC lightweight division. Originally from Omaha, Nebraska, where he was a two-time Amateur National Champion in Muay Thai, Dober transitioned from a 9–0 amateur record to a professional career that has seen him navigate extreme highs and controversial lows. Before entering the professional ranks, he also competed in wrestling during his high school years. He also holds a brown belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
His career has been marked by incredible resilience and a penchant for spectacular finishes. Dober holds the record for the most knockouts in the lightweight division, having achieved eleven knockouts in the UFC. This record was solidified through various high-stakes bouts, including a technical knockout victory over Ricky Glenn in October 2023 and a tenth knockout against Kyle Prepolec in October 2025. His ability to secure finishes has frequently earned him 'Performance of the Night' and 'Fight of the Night' honors. His fighting style has earned him numerous accolades, including several Performance of the Night awards. He has also been a participant on The Ultimate Fighter.
However, his path has not been without controversy. In March 2015, a fight against Leandro Silva was initially ruled a loss for Dober after the referee stopped the bout due to a perceived submission threat. Although Dober did not tap and faced no real peril, the Brazilian MMA Athletic Commission later changed the outcome to a 'No Contest' once the official confessed his blunder. Despite these technical hurdles, Dober has remained a consistent presence in the division, continuing his career through 2026. Dober's personal life has also seen significant changes, including a marriage to Hollis Casey in 2021. Outside of the octagon, he is an avid video game player and runs a YouTube channel.
