A historic showdown as a married couple competes against each other on Fox
In short: The fourteenth season of The Masked Singer broke new ground by featuring a direct family rivalry. While the competition reached new heights of celebrity intrigue, it also marked a major transition for the production company behind the scenes, signaling the end of an era for Fox Entertainment.
Premiering on January 7, 2026, and concluding on April 1, 2026, season 14 of The Masked Singer introduced a historic first for the American series. For the first time, a married couple competed against one another: Ashlee Simpson, performing as Galaxy Girl, faced off against her husband, Evan Ross, who competed as Stingray.
The season's outcome saw Ashlee Simpson take the title, leaving singer Phillip Phillips in second place as Pugcasso. Following them were actress and singer Kylie Cantrall as Cat Witch and singer Normani as Crane. This season was notable for its high-profile guest appearances, including Johnny Knoxville, Christina Perri, and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Beyond the stage, the season served as a significant turning point for the show's production. It was the final season produced under the Fox Entertainment label, with Eureka Productions—a company owned by Fremantle—set to take over production duties starting with the fifteenth season. This shift followed a season that faced unexpected disruptions, including a delay caused by NASCAR coverage and an interruption by a Presidential Address to the Nation during the finale.
The scale of the talent involved was immense. The contestants collectively boasted a combined total of approximately 94 million records sold, 21 platinum singles, and 54,438,600 Instagram followers. The season also featured a variety of themed nights, such as 'Fear Night', 'Spice Girls Night', and 'Star Trek Night'.
