From Miss Uttaranchal to the screens of Indian television and cinema
In short: Born in Odisha and raised in Dehradun, Madhurima Tuli has built a diverse career spanning Hindi television, Telugu cinema, and international ventures. From reality shows like Bigg Boss to playing historical figures in Hollywood-adjacent productions, her journey reflects the multifaceted nature of modern Indian entertainment.
Madhurima Tuli, born on 19 August 1986, began her professional journey with an early debut in the 2004 Telugu film Saththaa, starring opposite Sai Kiran. Before her ascent in the entertainment industry, she achieved recognition as the winner of the Miss Uttaranchal contest during her college years. This early success paved the way for her move to Mumbai, where she refined her craft at the Kishore Namit Kapoor Acting School.
Her career is defined by its breadth, transitioning from modeling for major brands like Airtel and Lenovo to significant roles in television and film. She has appeared in various Hindi television dramas, including the supernatural soap opera Shree and the series Rang Badalti Odhani. Her versatility is further evidenced by her participation in high-stakes reality television, such as Nach Baliye 9, Bigg Boss 13, and the third season of Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi, which was filmed in Brazil.
Tuli has also ventured into film with notable roles, such as Anjali Singh Rajput in the 2015 action film Baby and its spin-off Naam Shabana. In 2017, she expanded her reach into international territory with her first Hollywood venture, The Black Prince. In this production, she portrayed the younger version of Shabana Azmi, the mother of Maharaja Duleep Singh, the last king of the Sikh Empire.
Beyond her acting, Tuli's personal life has occasionally intersected with the industry; she met actor Vishal Aditya Singh on the set of the Colors TV series Chandrakanta in 2017, though the pair ended their relationship after one year in 2018.
