In short: Before becoming a household name in South Korean cinema, Min Hyo-rin was a rising model and singer. Her journey through the entertainment industry spans high-grossing films, experimental web series, and reality television, eventually leading to a high-profile marriage within the K-pop world.

Born Jung Eun-ran in Dong-gu, Daegu, the artist began her professional ascent in 2006. She first entered the public eye as a model for the clothing brand Flapper, adopting the stage name Min Hyo-rin. This period marked her transition from modeling into the music industry, where she appeared in music videos for artists such as Park Ki-young and F.T. Island before releasing her own musical projects.

Her musical output included the 2007 album RinZ and the 2008 single "Touch Me." However, it was her expansion into acting that secured her status as a major star. In 2009, she made her television debut in the series Triple, appearing alongside notable actors Lee Jung-jae and Song Joong-ki. She further demonstrated her versatility by starring in a 2010 web series based on Alain de Botton's novel, Romantic Movement, which utilized four different directors to capture various locations across Seoul.

Min's cinematic success reached a peak between 2011 and 2012. She appeared in the retro drama Sunny in 2011 and the period comedy The Grand Heist in 2012, both of which became significant box office hits in South Korea. Beyond scripted drama, she has navigated the reality television landscape, appearing in Fox's Butler and the KBS show Sister's Slam Dunk. In 2018, her personal life became a matter of public interest when she married singer Taeyang of the boy band Big Bang in a private ceremony, following an engagement confirmed in late 2017.

Her career has also embraced technological experimentation. In 2011, she starred in the short film Age of Milk, a production notable for being shot entirely using a Samsung Galaxy S smartphone.
