Napoli enters its 101st season facing a massive continental challenge
In short: As the 2026–27 campaign approaches, SSC Napoli stands at a historic crossroads. Beyond the familiar battles of Serie A, the club is preparing for the intense rigours of the UEFA Champions League, marking a significant chapter in its long-standing footballing legacy.
The 2026–27 campaign represents a monumental milestone for SSC Napoli, marking the club's 101st season of existence. This period of stability is underscored by the club's impressive domestic longevity, as it enters its 20th consecutive season competing in Serie A. This sustained presence at the summit of Italian football provides the foundation for a campaign that promises both domestic and international intensity.
The club's schedule for the upcoming year is already beginning to take shape. The foundational match schedule for the domestic league was officially released on 5 June 2026. This release allows the club and its supporters to prepare for the tactical challenges ahead in the Italian top flight and the Coppa Italia. However, the true complexity of the season lies in the club's European commitments.
The international stage will demand even greater focus, as Napoli participates in the UEFA Champions League. The structural framework for this continental competition will be further clarified during the league phase draw, which is scheduled to take place on 27 August 2026. This draw will determine the specific opponents and the path Napoli must navigate to succeed in Europe.
While the squad's composition involves players with various backgrounds, the club adheres to FIFA eligibility rules for representing national teams. It is noted that some limited exceptions apply to these definitions, and certain players may hold more than one non-FIFA nationality, adding a layer of complexity to the club's global identity during this historic 101st season.
