The record-breaking running back who redefined his own limitations

During his high school years, he gained All-America recognition from Blue Chip Illustrated and ESPN, having gained 4,949 yards as a two-time all-state pick. Beyond the gridiron, he was a multi-sport standout, lettering in track, weightlifting, and basketball. At Georgia Southern from 1998 to 2001, Peterson produced staggering numbers that remain etched in history. Across 57 contests, he scored 111 touchdowns and ended his playing days with a Division I football record of 6,559 rushing yards.
