In short: Decades ago, mysterious portals opened across Japan, revealing a dimension called Mato. Inside, a single discovery changed human society forever: Peaches. These fruits grant superhuman abilities, but there is a catch—only women can harness their power, creating a sudden, radical shift toward a matriarchal world.

The appearance of the Mato dimension introduced two profound challenges to humanity. First, the arrival of the Shuuki—hostile, malicious creatures—necessitated a new way of defending the population. Second, the discovery of Peaches provided a source of immense power, but the biological exclusivity of this power meant that only women could become superpowered. This biological divergence effectively flipped traditional gender roles, leading to a new social order where women held the primary defensive capabilities of the state.

To manage this new reality, the Japanese government established the Mato Defense Force (MDF), a specialized paramilitary unit operating under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Defense. The force is structured into various operational squadrons, including the 7th Squad, which is led by Kyouka Uzen. The organization is highly specialized; for instance, the 10th Squad serves as the central headquarters, while an away unit is dedicated specifically to exploring the Mato dimension and harvesting Peaches for consumption.

The social and military implications of these powers are complex. While the MDF protects humanity from the Shuuki, the mechanics of power usage often involve unique interpersonal dynamics. For example, certain abilities, such as Kyouka Uzen's 'Slave' power, allow a commander to enhance the physical attributes of a subordinate for combat. This creates a system of service and reward that is central to the unit's functionality. As the series progressed from its January 2019 manga debut, the scale of this world expanded, with the manga reaching over 6.8 million copies in circulation by August 2026.
