In short: In 2019, a collision with black ice left Daniel Garcia with two broken legs. Yet, the American wrestler transformed that physical setback into a career defined by technical precision and championship gold, rising from the independent circuit to become a central figure in All Elite Wrestling.

Daniel Garcia’s ascent in professional wrestling is marked by both physical resilience and stylistic evolution. After a 2019 car accident left him with two broken legs, Garcia returned to the ring just six months later. He eventually balanced his athletic career with academics, graduating from Buffalo State College with a degree in communications in 2020. Before his major television appearances, he honed his skills under the tutelage of Pepper Parks and Brandon Thurston. His professional journey began on the independent circuit in 2017.

His technical prowess became his trademark, particularly after a significant victory on July 27, 2022, when he defeated Bryan Danielson. This win led him to rename his signature bridging Sharpshooter the 'Dragon Tamer.' However, his persona has also embraced the controversial. As a member of the Jericho Appreciation Society, Garcia famously rejected the 'professional wrestler' label in favor of 'sports entertainer,' a term often used derisively in AEW to describe a focus on showmanship over pure athleticism. During his time with the Jericho Appreciation Society, he worked alongside Matt Menard and Angelo Parker. He even integrated a Latin-inspired dance into his ring persona to taunt opponents.

Garcia's championship pedigree spans multiple promotions. In AEW, he held the TNT Championship for 134 days, defending it against notable opponents like Katsuyori Shibata and Mark Briscoe. His success extends to Ring of Honor, where he held the Pure Championship for 94 days, and Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, where he won the Battle of Los Angeles in early 2022 and captured the PWG World Championship in May of that year. Currently, he is a member of the Death Riders faction in AEW, continuing a career defined by high-stakes competition and shifting allegiances. Beyond his American success, he has competed for the Mexican promotion CMLL. His recent championship loss to Adam Cole occurred in April 2025.
