This penalty shifted the subsequent extra point attempt from 20 yards to 35 yards, resulting in a miss. The resulting 21–20 loss led to the firing of Ole Miss head coach Matt Luke.
Moore's collegiate performance quickly ascended from that controversial season. He entered his junior year as a Biletnikoff Award watchlist candidate and set a school record on October 31, 2020, by recording 238 receiving yards in a single game against Vanderbilt. He finished that season with 86 receptions for 1,193 yards and eight touchdowns, earning consensus first-team All-America honors before opting out of the final regular season game to prepare for the NFL draft.
His professional career began in the 2021 NFL draft, where the New York Jets selected him in the second round, 34th overall. After signing a four-year, $8.94 million contract, Moore navigated a journey through several franchises. He played for the Cleveland Browns, the Buffalo Bills, and the Denver Broncos before signing with the Philadelphia Eagles on March 25, 2026. His career has been marked by significant statistical shifts, including a 2022 trade request from the Jets due to offensive involvement frustrations and a 2023 season where he served as a secondary option behind Amari Cooper in Cleveland.
