From backup dancer to summer icon, the multifaceted career of Kwon Eun-bi
In short: Born in 1995, Kwon Eun-bi transformed from a determined teenager writing letters to her family for permission to pursue the arts into a celebrated South Korean soloist. After leading the group Iz*One, she reinvented herself as a versatile performer, songwriter, and media personality, eventually earning the title of Summer Queen.
Kwon Eun-bi’s path to stardom began in Seoul, where she overcame initial parental opposition to her musical ambitions by rallying her extended family to help convince them. Her early industry experience included working as a backup dancer for groups like Secret and Girl's Day while holding a part-time job at a bakery. Her first formal entry into the music industry came in 2014 with the group Ye-A, performing under the stage name Kazoo, before she eventually transitioned to Woollim Entertainment.
Her breakthrough arrived through the 2018 survival show Produce 48, where her consistent performance secured her a spot in the group Iz*One. As the group's leader, she balanced performance duties with creative contributions, writing and composing tracks such as 'Spaceship' and 'With*One'. Following the group's disbandment in 2021, Kwon launched a solo career with her debut EP, Open. Her trajectory shifted significantly in 2023 following a viral appearance at the Waterbomb Seoul festival, which earned her the moniker 'Waterbomb Goddess' and propelled her single 'Underwater' back onto the music charts.
Beyond music, Kwon has maintained a prolific presence in Korean media, hosting radio shows like Young Street and appearing on various variety programs. Her influence extends into the advertising world, where she has modeled for diverse brands ranging from beverages to health products. In 2026, she marked a new chapter in her career by departing Woollim Entertainment to sign with RBW, continuing her work as a soloist with releases like 'Dejavu'.
