Born on 12 October 2005, Luc Rollet de Fougerolles began his footballing education at age five with BHFC Battersea before joining the Fulham Academy at eight. His development within the English system culminated in a professional contract in April 2023 and a senior debut that November during an EFL Cup victory against Ipswich Town. His technical profile is defined by adaptability; he functions effectively as a full-back, centre-back, or midfielder, praised for his composure, explosive movement, and proficiency in one-on-one defensive situations.
De Fougerolles’ international career reflects his dual British and Canadian citizenship. After accepting a call-up to the senior Canada side in October 2023, he made his debut in March 2024. His trajectory accelerated significantly in 2025, a year that saw him earn the Canada Soccer Young Player of the Year award and participate in the CONCACAF Gold Cup. By 2026, he was a key figure in Canada's historic World Cup campaign, starting in the opening draw against Bosnia and Herzegovina and the round of 16 match against Morocco.
The defender's club career has been characterized by strategic loan moves intended to secure consistent playing time. Following a season-long stint at Belgian club Dender EH, where he made 30 appearances, he joined Major League Soccer club Real Salt Lake in September 2026. These experiences, combined with his resilience on the pitch, underscore his role as a rising talent in international football. As he continues to develop under contract with Fulham until 2029, his ability to contribute to ball progression from the back remains a vital asset for both his club and country.
