In short: Born in the United States to parents of Nigerian and Italian-Canadian heritage, Luca Koleosho faced a unique international dilemma. Eligible to represent four different countries, the talented winger navigated a complex path through youth systems in Spain before ultimately committing his senior international future to the Italian national team.

Luca Warrick Daeovie Koleosho, born on September 15, 2004, began his footballing journey in Connecticut with Trumbull United and the Manhattan Kickers. Recognizing his potential, his family facilitated a move to Spain in 2016 to accelerate his development. He progressed through the youth ranks at Reus and later Espanyol, where he signed his first professional contract in June 2021. His senior debut followed in May 2022 during a La Liga match against Granada.

Koleosho's international eligibility was unusually broad, encompassing the United States, Canada, Nigeria, and Italy. His early youth career saw him participate in a United States U15 training camp in 2019 and receive a call-up to a U20 camp in 2022. Simultaneously, he was courted by the Canadian senior team, attending camps in 2022 and appearing on preliminary rosters in 2023. However, his trajectory shifted toward Europe when he accepted an invitation to the Italian U19 squad in March 2023.

Success with Italy came quickly. He was part of the squad that secured the 2023 UEFA European Under-19 Championship title in Malta. Following his debut for the Italian U21 side in November 2023, his progression culminated in a senior call-up under interim coach Silvio Baldini. He officially debuted for the Italian senior team on June 3, 2026, in a friendly against Luxembourg, effectively settling his international allegiance.

His club career has been equally nomadic. After a stint at Burnley in the Premier League, where he scored his first goal in December 2023, he returned to Spain on loan before moving to French club Paris FC in early 2026. By July 2026, Paris FC secured his services permanently on a five-season contract, marking the latest chapter for a player whose development spanned multiple continents and footballing cultures.
