In short: Born into a legendary Mexican wrestling dynasty, he spent years wrestling under his father's shadow. But a radical repackaging transformed him from a traditional luchador into a horror-themed icon, leading a dominant trio that once boasted an incredible 600-match winning streak.

Born on 16 December 1985, the wrestler Psycho Clown hails from the famous Alvarado wrestling dynasty. He is the offspring of José Alvarado Nieves, a pro wrestler who competed as Super Porky or Brazo de Plata. For much of his early career, he competed as Brazo de Plata Jr., even adopting his father's specific mask style. His siblings, such as Muñeca de Plata, Goya Kong, and Máximo, also compete in professional wrestling.

A significant shift occurred in 2005 when the Alvarado family decided their sons should develop independent identities rather than living off the 'Brazo' name. After a period wrestling as 'Kronos,' the performer was repackaged by Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide in late 2007. He became Psycho Clown, a member of the trio Los Psycho Circus alongside Monster Clown and Murder Clown. Their aesthetic was inspired by the film 'Killer Klowns from Outer Space,' featuring rubber masks with twisted, horrific expressions and a signature one-foot-tall red and blue Mohawk.

This transformation proved immensely successful. Los Psycho Circus became a dominant force in AAA, amassing an undefeated winning streak that reached 600 victories by mid-2010. The streak finally ended on December 5, 2010, in a steel cage weapons match against Los Perros del Mal. Since then, Psycho Clown has headlined numerous flagship events, including six editions of Triplemanía, and has expanded his brand into video games and television.

Despite his global recognition, his true identity remains a secret. In the tradition of Mexican masked wrestling, his real name is not a matter of public record, though his paternal and maternal last names are known to be Alvarado and Ruiz.
