In short: At nine years old, Satnam Singh was already taller than most of his neighbors. His rapid growth, which earned him the nickname 'little one,' eventually propelled him from a dirt courtyard in India to the historic 2015 NBA draft.

Born in the small village of Balloke, Punjab, Singh’s path to professional sports was marked by extraordinary physical development. By age 14, he stood 6 feet 6 inches tall and wore size-18 shoes. His father, a wheat farmer and miller, helped introduce him to basketball by mounting a hoop in their courtyard. This early start led to his participation in the Indian national under-16 team in 2009 and eventually the senior national team in 2011. His father, Balbir Singh, also played basketball because of his own impressive height. This rapid growth was so pronounced that local spectators in his village nicknamed him 'Chhotu.'

His ascent was accelerated by global sporting partnerships. In 2010, the formation of IMG Reliance allowed for scholarships to the IMG Academy in Florida. Singh was one of 29 student-athletes selected for this program, moving to Bradenton despite knowing no English. His performance at the academy, where he averaged 9.2 points and 8'4 rebounds during the 2014–15 season, caught the attention of NBA scouts. The opportunity arose through a 30-year contract between the Basketball Federation of India and IMGR. Before his move to the United States, he had already competed in a basketball camp in Singapore.

In June 2015, Singh made history as the first Indian-born player to be selected in the NBA draft, taken 52nd overall by the Dallas Mavericks. While his basketball career included stints with the Texas Legends and the Canadian NBL, his trajectory later shifted toward professional wrestling. In 2021, he signed with All Elite Wrestling (AEW), later achieving his first professional title win at Triplemanía XXXII in 2024. His professional journey later faced a setback when he received a two-year suspension from the National Anti-Doping Agency in 2020. He eventually found championship success in Mexico alongside Raj Dhesi.
