In short: In 2007, Zac Robinson achieved a feat of dual-threat dominance rarely seen in college football. While many players specialize, Robinson's statistical explosion set a school record and placed him in the same elite tier as Heisman winner Tim Tebow.

Zac Robinson’s ascent at Oklahoma State University was defined by a historic 2007 sophomore season. After serving as a reserve in 2006, Robinson took over the starting quarterback role and orchestrated a massive offensive output. He amassed 2,824 passing yards and 847 rushing yards, totaling 3,671 offensive yards—a figure that established a new school record. His performance was so statistically significant that he was the only other player in Division I FBS that year to record at least 2,800 passing yards and 800 rushing yards, standing alongside the legendary Tim Tebow.

However, his path was not without significant obstacles. During the 2009 season, Robinson's momentum was disrupted by the loss of key teammates, including running back Kendall Hunter and the suspension of wide receiver Dez Bryant. Personal physical setbacks also took a toll; a collision with Texas Tech's Jamar Wall resulted in both a concussion and a shoulder injury, alongside a separate hamstring issue. Despite these hurdles, Robinson's versatility was evident throughout his career, from his high school days in Colorado—where he recorded over 1,000 rushing yards and 1,400 passing yards in a single season—to his professional training.

After a professional playing career that spanned stints with the New England Patriots, Seattle Seahawks, Detroit Lions, and Cincinnati Bengals, Robinson transitioned into coaching in 2019. He began as an assistant for the Los Angeles Rams, eventually contributing to their Super Bowl LVI victory. His rapid ascent through the coaching ranks saw him serve as a pass game coordinator before being appointed offensive coordinator for the Atlanta Falcons in early 2024, and later for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2026.
