In short: Born into a cinematic dynasty, Zayed Khan transitioned from a successful acting career to film production. After studying filmmaking in London, he navigated a path through massive Bollywood hits, high-budget underwater adventures, and television roles, while also venturing into the business side of the industry as a co-owner of his own production house.

Following studies in Film Making at the London Film Academy and Business Management at Montgomery College, Zayed Khan made his 2003 cinematic debut in Chura Liyaa Hai Tumne. As the son of actor-director Sanjay Khan and designer Zarine Khan, he was part of a significant film family, including uncles Feroz and Akbar Khan.

His early career saw both significant commercial success and critical recognition. In 2004, he starred in Main Hoon Na, which became one of the year's biggest hits, ranking second only to Veer-Zaara. His performance in the 2005 action thriller Dus, where he played a police officer, was also a major success, making it the third highest-grossing film of that year. This period also earned him a Filmfare Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor in 2005.

Beyond acting, Khan has explored various facets of the industry. During his studies in London, he began script-writing, even ghost-writing scenes for the 2006 film Rocky: The Rebel. In 2011, he expanded into production, co-founding Born Free Entertainment alongside Dia Mirza and Sahil Sanga, releasing the film Love Breakups Zindagi.

His filmography also includes high-stakes projects like the 2009 underwater thriller Blue, which set a record for the highest budget in Bollywood at the time. While some ventures, such as the 2007 film Cash, failed to replicate the success of his earlier hits, Khan has continued to diversify, making his television debut in the 2017 series Haasil.
