In short: Born in Recife, Rafael Câmara has rapidly ascended the motorsport ladder. From dominating regional karting circuits to securing historic wins in Formula Regional and Formula 3, the Ferrari Driver Academy member is now competing in the FIA Formula 2 Championship, marking a swift rise through the ranks of international racing.

Rafael Chaves Câmara, born in May 2005 in Boa Viagem, Brazil, began his competitive journey in karting at age six. His early exposure to the sport was influenced by his maternal grandmother, Niége Rossiter, a pioneer in the local motorsports scene during the 1960s. By 2019, Câmara had achieved significant international recognition, securing second place in the Karting World Championship. His karting career concluded in 2021 with multiple series victories, including the WSK Champions Cup and the WSK Super Master Series.

In 2022, Câmara transitioned to single-seater racing, joining the Ferrari Driver Academy. His debut season in Formula 4 saw him finish as the rookie champion in the UAE series and third overall in both Italian and ADAC championships. His progression continued into Formula Regional, where he achieved a record-breaking performance in 2024. By winning seven races in a single season, he set a new benchmark for the category, clinching the title with a 75-point lead over his closest rival, James Wharton.

Câmara’s momentum carried into his rookie FIA Formula 3 season in 2025. He demonstrated exceptional qualifying speed, becoming the first driver to secure four consecutive pole positions in the series. His dominance culminated in a championship victory at the Hungaroring, making him the first driver to achieve this feat since the championship's inception in 2019. Now competing in the 2026 FIA Formula 2 Championship with Invicta Racing, Câmara continues to test high-performance machinery, including the Ferrari SF-25 and Haas VF-25, as he pursues his path toward the highest levels of professional motorsport.
