Astronauts honor space history before launching for the International Space Station
In short: Before embarking on a five-month mission, the Expedition 50-51 crew visited historic sites in Russia. This video captures the crew touring the Gagarin Museum and participating in traditional ceremonies at Moscow's Red Square.
The crew members involved include Soyuz Commander Oleg Novitskiy of Roscosmos, alongside NASA's Peggy Whitson and the European Space Agency's Thomas Pesquet. Support crew members included Jack Fischer (NASA), Paolo Nespoli (European Space Agency), and Fyodor Yurchikhin (Roscosmos).
The team examined significant space relics at Star City's Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center on October 26. Following this, they traveled to Red Square in Moscow for traditional ceremonies. This preparation precedes their scheduled launch on November 16 from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan aboard the Soyuz MS-03 spacecraft.
