A mission in motion: tracking the Artemis II lunar journey

The Artemis II mission serves as the inaugural crewed flight test for both the Orion spacecraft, named Integrity, and the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket. This approximately 10-day mission involves a trajectory around the Moon and back to Earth, testing the essential technologies required for sustained lunar exploration and future human expeditions to Mars.
Under the broader Artemis program, NASA aims to execute increasingly complex missions to the Moon. These efforts are designed to drive scientific discovery and economic benefits while establishing the necessary foundation for the first crewed missions to Mars.
