The musical tribute to humanity's first attempt to land on a comet
In short: This video features a special composition by Vangelis, created to celebrate the Rosetta mission's historic attempt at the first ever soft landing on a comet by the European Space Agency.
The piece is the second in a trilogy of music videos released by the ESA, following 'Arrival' and preceding 'Rosetta's waltz'.
Vangelis, known for his Academy Award–winning score for Chariots of Fire, composed this work specifically for the ESA, drawing inspiration from the Rosetta mission. His work frequently explores themes of science, history, and exploration, notably through his contributions to Carl Sagan's Cosmos series.
