In short: When 38-year-old Ken'ichi Hamada is displaced to another world by a mysterious god, he discovers a unique advantage: he can still access Earth's internet. By using this connection to shop online, he transforms modern goods into a lucrative business that fuels his new life and attracts many admirers.

In this Japanese light novel series, illustrated by Yamakawa and authored by Hifumi Asakura, Tokyo-based freelance manga artist Ken'ichi Hamada is the protagonist. Dissatisfied with urban life, Ken'ichi had moved back to his country home before being abruptly transported to a new world. His survival hinges on a 'cheat skill': the ability to connect to Earth's internet to purchase modern items and use an Item Box with unlimited capacity to store them.

Ken'ichi's business model involves selling items found in the new world to fund the procurement of high-quality modern goods for profit. This economic edge brings him significant notoriety and a growing circle of companions, including Princess Lilith, who eventually grants him the title and powers of a Holy Knight. His arsenal is as unconventional as his commerce, consisting of items like a crossbow, a slingshot, a shield, firecrackers, and even an excavator—which locals refer to as a 'summoned iron beast.'

The narrative complexity increases as Ken'ichi navigates social and romantic entanglements. He faces competition for his affection from various women, including Primura, the daughter of a wealthy merchant, and Myarey, a cat beastwoman. As he moves from the town of Dahlia to Astrantia, he encounters rumors that he might not be the only person from Earth stranded in this realm. The series has seen significant expansion, from its origins on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website to a manga adaptation in Monthly GFantasy and an anime series produced by East Fish Studio.

The story explores themes of displacement and the intersection of modern technology with traditional fantasy settings. While Ken'ichi initially seeks a quiet life in the countryside, his success as a merchant and his combat roles force him into the spotlight of local politics and conflict, such as his expedition to rescue Primura from Shaga's bandits.
