In short: Born in Albury and raised in the Northern Tablelands, Dylan Edwards has become a central figure in the Penrith Panthers' era of dominance. Since his NRL debut in 2016, the fullback has transitioned from a promising winger to a multi-time premiership winner and Clive Churchill Medalist.

Dylan Edwards' journey to professional rugby league began in New South Wales, moving from Albury to Dorrigo at a young age. After playing junior rugby league for the Albury Pumas and the Bellingen Dorrigo Magpies, he was signed by the Penrith Panthers in 2012. His development within the club's system was rapid; by 2015, he was a member of the NYC team, helping secure the 2015 NYC Grand Final victory over the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles.

Since making his NRL debut on 10 July 2016 against the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks, Edwards has become a cornerstone of the Penrith Panthers' success. While he initially debuted as a winger, he has played a pivotal role as a fullback in several premiership wins. He was a key part of the 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024 NRL premiership-winning squads, demonstrating remarkable consistency and resilience through various injuries, including a syndesmosis tear in his right ankle in 2020.

His individual accolades reflect his elite status in the NRL. In 2022, Edwards was awarded the Clive Churchill Medal as the man of the match during the Penrith Panthers' Grand Final victory over Parramatta. His value to the club was further solidified on 30 August 2023, when he signed a four-year contract extension worth $3.4 million. Beyond club success, Edwards has represented Australia at the international level and played for New South Wales in the State of Origin series.

Edwards' career is marked by high-stakes performances, such as scoring four tries in a 44-12 victory over Manly in the 2023 NRL season. Despite setbacks, such as missing the State of Origin opener in 2024 due to a quad injury, he has consistently returned to the highest level of competition, cementing his reputation as one of the premier fullbacks in the game.
