How one Turkish club achieved a perfect season in women's basketball
In short: Fenerbahçe S.K. has transformed from a 1954 foundation into a dominant force in European basketball. Beyond their 52 total trophies, the club recently achieved the extraordinary feat of a perfect season, winning every single game they played in a single campaign.
Since its founding in 1954, the Istanbul-based Fenerbahçe S.K. women's basketball department has established itself as the most successful club in Turkish domestic competitions. The team has amassed a staggering 52 trophies, including a record 23 Turkish championship titles and 15 Turkish Cups. Their dominance is not limited to local play; they have become a powerhouse in Europe, securing four consecutive EuroLeague titles across the 2022–23, 2023–24, and 2025–26 seasons, alongside a historic victory in the FIBA Europe SuperCup.
The club's most remarkable recent achievement occurred during the 2023–24 season, when they recorded a perfect season by winning all 35 games played. This flawless run coincided with a clean sweep of every competition they entered, including the EuroLeague, the Turkish Cup, and the Europe SuperCup. They proved their supremacy in the SuperCup by defeating France's LDLC ASVEL Féminin with a record-breaking 57-point differential, and they repeated their SuperCup success in 2024 by defeating arch-rivals Beşiktaş 79–63.
This level of sustained excellence is rare in professional sports. Fenerbahçe has achieved the feat of winning eight consecutive season titles on two separate occasions. While they have faced setbacks, such as finishing as runners-up in the EuroCup in 2004–05 or in the EuroLeague on four occasions, their trajectory remains upward. The club continues to set benchmarks for Turkish basketball, combining domestic records with unprecedented European dominance.
