In short: Jax has built a career on navigating the intersection of reality television and digital virality. After finishing third on American Idol, she transitioned from a competition contestant to a Billboard-charting artist, eventually becoming iHeartRadio's first-ever TikTok Songwriter of the Year.

Born Jaclyn Cole Miskanic on May 5, 1996, the singer began her musical journey at age five. After moving from New York to New Jersey in 2005, she opted for homeschooling in the eighth grade to dedicate herself to vocal training and performances. Her academic path included studying at New York University in London, where she earned a John Lennon Scholarship through the BMI Foundation, and later graduating from the Fashion Institute of Technology.

Her rise to prominence began during the fourteenth season of American Idol in 2015. Throughout Hollywood Week, she stood out as the sole individual among 80 participants to secure safety right after a solo rendition. She ultimately finished the competition in third place. This success led to her first single, "Forcefield," and participation in the American Idols LIVE! Tour 2015.

Jax's commercial breakthrough arrived with the 2022 single "Victoria's Secret," which reached number 35 on the Billboard Hot 100 and earned a Gold certification in the United States. Inspired by a girl she was babysitting, the track focused on body positivity. This success was bolstered by her massive digital presence, including 14.5 million TikTok followers and a single that reached 80 million streams on the platform.

In 2024, she released her debut studio album, Dear Joe, via Atlantic Records. The album achieved significant chart presence, reaching number nine on both the Billboard Heatseekers Albums and Spotify's US Albums charts. Her career has also been marked by personal resilience, including a public revelation in August 2016 that she was battling thyroid cancer.
