In short: In February 2020, Joaquín Panichelli's footballing ambitions hit a wall during a trial at Boca Juniors. Instead of a setback, it became the catalyst for a rapid ascent from Córdoba's local leagues to becoming the Player of the Season for French club Strasbourg.

Born in Córdoba on 7 October 2002, Panichelli's journey is a testament to resilience in professional sports. After developing with local sides like Racing de Córdoba, Belgrano, and Atalaya de Córdoba, he faced a pivotal moment in February 2020. A failed trial at the prestigious Boca Juniors initially seemed like a closed door, but it instead led him to sign for River Plate, setting the stage for an international career.

His transition to European football began on 13 January 2023, when he signed a three-and-a-half-year contract with the Spanish side Deportivo Alavés. Following time with the reserve side, he played his first professional match on 5 May during a draw with Granada CF. Despite setbacks, including a knee injury that delayed his La Liga debut until 3 February 2024, Panichelli continued to prove his value on the pitch.

A loan move to CD Mirandés for the 2024–25 season proved transformative. He scored his first professional goal on 24 August 2024 against Málaga CF and finished that campaign as the club's top scorer with 21 goals. This momentum carried him to Strasbourg on 27 July 2025, where he achieved remarkable success, scoring on his debut and earning Player of the Season honors. Yet, his progress faced setbacks; during an international training session in March 2026, he sustained a second ACL injury within two years, halting his momentum after scoring 16 Ligue 1 goals.

Beyond his club success, Panichelli has represented the Argentina national team, making his debut on 15 November 2025 in a 2–0 friendly win over Angola. His talent follows a family tradition, as his father, Germán, was also a professional footballer playing as a forward.
