In short: Born in Catalonia to a Uruguayan father, this striker's career is a study in footballing heritage. From the prestigious Real Madrid academy to a £21 million move to the Premier League, his journey involves complex international loyalties and a family legacy of professional excellence.

Álube Rodríguez Muñoz, born on 14 July 2004, in Palamós, carries a significant footballing pedigree. He is the son of the former Uruguayan international Coquito and the grand-nephew of another Uruguayan international, Climaco Rodríguez. This heritage shaped a career that began at just six years old with the Global Palamós academy, eventually leading him through Girona's youth setup to the famed La Fábrica academy at Real Madrid.

His time at Real Madrid was marked by early silverware, including the 2022 Copa del Rey Juvenil. His transition to senior football was rapid; he debuted for Real Madrid Castilla on 24 October 2021. By early 2023, he had progressed to the Real Madrid senior squad, making his La Liga debut against Osasuna on 19 February 2023 and scoring against Atlético Madrid shortly after on 25 February.

A defining aspect of Rodríguez's career is his international identity. While eligible for both Spain and Uruguay, he officially committed his future to Uruguay in August 2022. His international path has seen both triumph and frustration; he scored five goals during the 2023 South American U-20 Championship, yet was denied the chance to play in the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup because Real Madrid would not release him for the tournament.

After stints on loan at Getafe and a contract with Elche in July 2025, Rodríguez moved to the Premier League. On 14 July 2026, AFC Bournemouth signed the left-footed centre-forward for a fee of £21 million. Known for his physical presence and tireless movement, he continues to represent the next generation of Uruguayan attacking talent.
