The rare sibling feat of two brothers sacking the same opponent
In short: In the high-stakes world of the NFL, sibling dynamics are usually confined to the locker room. But in 2021, Quinnen and Quincy Williams achieved a historic milestone, both recording sacks in the same game. Their journey from Alabama's powerhouse defense to the Jets' front line is a study in elite interior pressure.
Quinnen Williams first made his mark at the University of Alabama. After redshirting in 2016, he became a dominant force, earning the Outland Trophy as the nation's best interior lineman following his redshirt sophomore season. During that standout year, he recorded 20 tackles for loss—tying for second in the SEC—and eight sacks, which tied for fifth in the conference. His performance was so impactful that he was named a unanimous first-team All-American. Drafted third overall by the New York Jets in 2019, Williams entered the professional ranks with a massive $32.5 million four-year deal. His transition to the NFL was marked by physical hurdles, including a foot fracture in 2021 that required surgery.
However, he quickly adapted, recording his first career sack in Week 9 of his rookie season and eventually becoming a cornerstone of the Jets' defensive line, earning an All-Pro vote in 2020. A historic sibling milestone took place during the Tennessee Titans match on 4 October 2021. Both Quincy and Quinnen, the latter of whom arrived at the Jets previously that year, achieved a record-breaking dual sack performance in that win. By the time Williams was traded to the Dallas Cowboys in late 2025, he had established himself as a premier interior threat, securing a massive five-year extension worth $153.15 million and earning his fourth consecutive Pro Bowl selection.
