In short: Rasmus Kristensen’s career is a masterclass in rapid ascent. Since his professional debut at eighteen, the Danish right-back has navigated the top leagues of Europe, moving from the Danish Superliga to the Premier League and Serie A, eventually finding his footing in the Bundesliga and the Champions League.

Born on 11 July 1997, Rasmus Kristensen’s journey began in the Brande IF youth system, where he played for six years before moving to Herning Fremad. His professional trajectory accelerated significantly in 2012 when he signed a youth contract with FC Midtjylland. By the summer of 2016, at just 18 years old, he was promoted to the Midtjylland first team, making his official Superliga debut on 7 March 2016 against FC Nordsjælland.

His talent quickly caught the eye of Europe's elite. After becoming a key player for Midtjylland during the 2016–17 season, he signed with Ajax in January 2018. This move served as a springboard to the Austrian Bundesliga with Red Bull Salzburg, where he earned spots in the Austrian Bundesliga Team of the Year for both the 2020–21 and 2021–22 seasons.

Kristensen's versatility has seen him compete in the world's most prestigious leagues. He joined Leeds United in the English Premier League in June 2022 for a fee estimated around £10 million, later moving to AS Roma on loan in July 2023. By mid-2024, he transitioned to the German Bundesliga with Eintracht Frankfurt. His evolution reached a milestone on 22 October 2025, when he scored his first UEFA Champions League goal against Liverpool.

Since his first appearance for Denmark on 4 September 2021 during a World Cup qualifier against the Faroe Islands, Kristensen has played for the national side. His rise is part of a notable footballing lineage; he is the nephew of former Sturm Graz player Sigurd Kristensen and the cousin of Leon Jessen.
