Despite these hurdles, Wheeler’s resurgence culminated in a dominant tenure with the Philadelphia Phillies, whom he joined in December 2019 on a five-year, $118 million contract. He evolved into the team's ace, achieving a sub-3.00 ERA in five of his first six seasons with the club. His excellence was recognized with multiple All-Star selections in 2021, 2024, and 2025, marking his transition from a survivor of injury to a premier talent in the National League.
