In short: BigBang is finally reclaiming the global stage. After nearly a decade of silence, the group returns as a three-member lineup to celebrate their 20th anniversary with a massive world tour that has already shattered digital ticketing records.

The XX: Cosmos World Tour marks a significant transition for BigBang, representing their first concert series since the Last Dance Tour ended in December 2017. This hiatus was primarily defined by members completing their mandatory military service. The tour is notable for being the group's first live performance as a three-member lineup featuring G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung.

The momentum for this return built significantly in early 2026. In April of that year, the group performed at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. This appearance served as a high-profile proof of concept; Forbes described their performance as "unparalleled," while the Los Angeles Times highlighted their enduring influence on the K-pop genre. It was during this set that G-Dragon officially announced plans for the world tour.

The logistics of the 31-show itinerary, announced by YG Entertainment and AEG Presents in June 2026, revealed a massive commercial appetite. The tour kicked off on August 21, 2026, at Goyang Stadium in South Korea. Demand was so high that tickets for the opening three shows sold out in just 22 minutes, with Coupang Play recording approximately 210,000 concurrent users—a record for music entertainment traffic in South Korea during the first half of 2026.

The tour spans Asia, North America, Europe, and Australia, concluding on February 28, 2027, in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. The sheer speed of sellouts, such as the Oakland Coliseum date which vanished in 30 minutes, has forced organizers to consider adding extra dates to satisfy a global fanbase that remained active during their years away from the spotlight.
