From NXT UK to TNA dominance: The relentless rise of wrestler Dani Luna
In short: Born Chloe Smyth, Dani Luna has carved a formidable path through professional wrestling. From her early days on the British independent circuit to high-profile stints in WWE and TNA, Luna has evolved into a decorated tag team champion and a fierce singles competitor, recently bringing her intensity to All Elite Wrestling.
Born on March 2, 1999, the English wrestler known as Dani Luna began her professional journey in December 2016. After gaining experience across various British promotions, she joined WWE’s NXT UK brand in 2019. Her tenure there included notable matches against competitors like Rhea Ripley and Piper Niven before her release in August 2022. This transition marked a return to the independent circuit, where she quickly secured championships, including the Undisputed British Women's Championship, which she held for 252 days until August 2024.
Luna’s career reached new heights after joining TNA Wrestling, where she signed a full-time contract in December 2023. Teaming with Jody Threat as the duo Spitfire, she became a two-time TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Champion. Their first reign lasted 56 days, followed by a second, more substantial 182-day run. The pair was eventually forced to disband in May 2025 following a stipulation match at Under Siege. This period also saw Luna earn recognition as the 2024 Knockouts Tag Team of the Year.
Following her time in TNA, where she briefly adopted the persona Doomsday, Luna transitioned to All Elite Wrestling in September 2026. Her debut at All Out saw her challenge for the TBS Championship. Throughout her career, she has been recognized for her technical prowess and resilience, earning a ranking of 23rd in the PWI Women's 250 in 2024 and 458th in the PWI 500 in 2026. Her trajectory reflects the evolving landscape of professional wrestling, moving between global promotions and independent stages.
