In short: Born on October 3, 2001, Anton Lundell has rapidly ascended the ranks of professional hockey. From his early development in the Finnish Liiga to becoming a cornerstone centre for the Florida Panthers, his career is defined by consistent growth, international success, and consecutive Stanley Cup victories in 2024 and 2025.

Lundell’s path to the NHL began within the HIFK junior program, where he started at the U16 level at age 14. His professional breakthrough arrived during the 2018–19 Liiga season, where he registered 19 points in 38 games. By the following season, he had established himself as a reliable two-way forward, recording 28 points in 44 games before the season was cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic. His potential was recognized in the 2020 NHL entry draft, where the Florida Panthers selected him 12th overall.

Transitioning to North America in 2021, Lundell made an immediate impact. He signed his entry-level contract on 7 June 2021 and debuted for the Panthers on 14 October 2021. His rookie campaign was marked by rapid adaptation, including a five-assist performance against the Columbus Blue Jackets on 31 January 2022, which helped him earn NHL Rookie of the Month honors for January 2022. He scored his first NHL goal just days after his debut, beating goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy.

Beyond his club success, Lundell has been a fixture for Finland on the international stage. His trophy cabinet includes gold medals from the 2018 World U18 Championships and the 2019 World Junior Championships. He later captained Finland to a bronze medal at the 2021 World Juniors, finishing as one of the tournament's top three scorers. His international momentum continued with a silver medal at the 2021 World Championship and a gold medal victory in 2026.

The pinnacle of his professional career arrived with the Florida Panthers' historic run. Lundell played a key role in defeating the Edmonton Oilers in the 2024 Stanley Cup Final, securing his first championship. Following this victory, he signed a six-year, $30 million contract extension. The team repeated their success in the 2024–25 season, once again overcoming the Oilers in the Final to secure back-to-back Stanley Cup titles.
