The record-breaking leg that redefined the limits of professional football
In short: In a single NFL season, Cam Little transitioned from a college standout to a record-shattering phenomenon. By converting massive distance kicks that surpassed long-standing NFL benchmarks, the Jacksonville Jaguars kicker has rewritten the history books, proving that the boundaries of human strength and precision are still moving.
Cam Little’s ascent to the NFL was marked by unprecedented accuracy. During his tenure with the Arkansas Razorbacks from 2021 to 2023, he established the highest field goal percentage in the program's history at 82.8%. His collegiate career was defined by reliability; he finished his time at Arkansas without missing a single extra point attempt.
The 2025 season brought Little into the spotlight as a master of extreme distance. During an NFL preseason game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on August 9, 2025, he converted a 70-yard field goal. While this stands as the longest successful kick in any level of organized football—surpassing Ove Johansson's 1976 record of 69 yards—it is not officially recognized as an NFL record because it occurred during the preseason.
However, Little has officially rewritten the NFL record books during the regular season. On November 2, while visiting the Las Vegas Raiders, he struck a 68-yard field goal, breaking the previous 66-yard record held by Justin Tucker since 2021. He followed this feat in a season finale against the Tennessee Titans with a 67-yard kick, which set the record for the longest outdoor field goal in the league.
Beyond the statistics, Little's impact is measured in community support. During his college years, he donated $1,460 to the Down Syndrome Connection of Northwest Arkansas, a gesture that earned him a feature on Good Morning America. Drafted in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL draft, Little remains the youngest kicker ever to be selected in the NFL draft.
