The Jacksonville Jaguars' historic 13-win surge and record-breaking kicks
In short: After a dismal 4–13 season, the Jacksonville Jaguars transformed their fortunes in 2025. Led by new leadership, the team secured their first 10-win season since 2017 and achieved their highest win total since 1999, punctuated by unprecedented feats of kicking precision and a dramatic return to the playoffs.
The 2025 campaign marked a significant turning point for the franchise, representing its 31st season in the NFL. Led by head coach Liam Coen and general manager James Gladstone, the Jaguars improved upon a 4–13 tally to secure 13 victories. An eight-game winning streak at season's end propelled them to their third AFC South title and fifth division championship.
Individual milestones defined the year, most notably the historic kicking of Cam Little. Little rewrote the NFL record books by converting a 68-yard field goal against the Las Vegas Raiders, surpassing Justin Tucker's 66-yard record set in 2021. During Week 18 against the Tennessee Titans, Little set an outdoor stadium record with a 67-yard field goal.
The season was not without controversy or struggle. The team faced discipline issues, including a 19-point blown lead against the Houston Texans—the largest in franchise history—and an ejection of defensive end Travon Walker during a game against the Raiders. Despite these setbacks, quarterback Trevor Lawrence set a franchise single-season record with 38 total touchdowns, surpassing the 37 thrown by Blake Bortles in 2015.
The Jaguars' resurgence culminated in a playoff berth, their first since 2022, clinched following a victory over the Denver Broncos and a subsequent Indianapolis Colts loss. Their season eventually concluded in the Wild Card round with a 27–24 defeat to the Buffalo Bills.
