In short: In the high-pressure world of professional cricket, Jordan Clark became a rare statistical outlier. He is one of only five players to ever hit six sixes off a single over in a professional match, yet he is often defined by his reliability as a team anchor.

Born in Whitehaven in 1990, Jordan Clark's path to the top of English cricket was marked by steady progression through the Lancashire system. After debuting for Cumberland in the 2007 Minor Counties Championship, he joined the Lancashire Academy in 2008. His early career was not without physical hurdles; a stress fracture to his back in the winter of 2010/11 threatened his momentum, but he persevered to secure a professional contract by October 2011.

Clark is known for his versatility as a right-handed batsman and right-arm medium-pace bowler who can also field as a wicket-keeper. This multi-faceted skill set allowed him to become a vital asset for his clubs. His most explosive moment came in April 2013 at the North Marine Road Ground, where he achieved a feat of immense difficulty: hitting six sixes off left-arm spinner Gurman Randhawa in a single over against Yorkshire.

However, his legacy is equally defined by his ability to perform under extreme pressure. While facing Yorkshire in July 2018, Clark took a unique hat-trick by getting out three prominent cricketers—Joe Root of England, Kane Williamson of New Zealand, and Jonny Bairstow—within three straight deliveries. This performance contributed to a maiden first-class five-wicket haul of 5–58.

After accumulating over 5,000 runs and 150 wickets for Lancashire, Clark moved to Surrey in 2019. He became known as an "underestimated lynchpin" there. Surrey's 2022 and 2023 County Championship victories relied on his input, demonstrating that his reliability is just as vital as his flashes of excellence.
