Capturing the nomadic rhythms of the Mongolian steppes
In short: Step into the summer of 2000 through archival footage documenting the diverse lifestyles and daily traditions of people living across the Mongolian landscape.
This collection of unedited footage was captured by Dr. Paula L.W. Sabloff, cameraman Tom Gillern, and crew member Heather Marshall. The mission was to document contemporary nomadic life in preparation for the Penn Museum's 2001 exhibition, 'Modern Mongolia, Reclaiming Genghis Khan'. The footage provides an overview of various Mongolian backgrounds through extensive interviews and scenes of life on the steppes.
