This encounter granted her the ability to teleport between Earth and a medieval world, alongside regenerative powers and the capacity to understand the alternate world's language.
Driven by the fear of losing her new abilities and being left without funds, Mitsuha established a strategic economic mission. She exploits her interdimensional access to exchange Earth's modern products, jewelry, and currency for wealth in the new realm. Her entrepreneurial ventures include opening a shop that serves local residents, some of whom initially mistook her modern imports for witchcraft.
As her influence grows, Mitsu hi has transitioned from a traveler to a figure of local importance, even becoming a viscountess with her own domain. Her journey involves navigating complex social structures, from befriending a forest farmer's daughter named Colette to interacting with royalty. While she is sometimes known by the title 'Messenger of Lightning,' she prefers focusing on her primary goal: accumulating enough gold to secure her future retirement.
The series, originally appearing on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website, has expanded into a significant franchise. Beyond the light novels, the story has been adapted into a manga and an anime television series produced by Felix Film, which aired between January and March 2023.
