Marcus Wandt begins the Muninn mission aboard the International Space Station
ESA project astronaut Marcus Wandt has launched as part of the Axiom-3 crew. This mission, titled Muninn, focuses on scientific research and technology testing intended to benefit life on Earth during a two-week stay in orbit.
Launched on 17 January 2024 from NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida, the Axiom-3 mission carried Marcus Wandt toward the International Space Station. His arrival on 20 January marks the official start of the Muninn mission.
During his stay of up to 14 days, Wandt will conduct experiments and evaluate new technologies. The mission serves as a practical testing ground for innovations that may eventually provide tangible improvements for people on Earth.
