How a decade of isolation transformed a mage into a legend
In short: When the mage Luck stayed behind to hold the line against an interdimensional invasion, he lost track of time. He emerged ten years later to find the world had changed, his friends had moved on, and his name had become a myth.
The story follows Luck Lock Franzen, a mage who served in the Hero Party alongside the warrior Golan and the hero Erik Mendilibar. During a confrontation with the Majin Ruler—a demon lord from another dimension—the party faced an overwhelming horde of Majin. To ensure his companions could escape the interdimensional space, Luck chose to remain alone, fighting the advancing forces by himself. This desperate defense was necessary because the Majin forces were invading directly from a separate dimension.
While Luck fought to protect the world, a decade passed in the outside world. By the time he finally defeated the demons and returned, he was no longer just a mage, but was hailed as a Great Sage and a legend. The passage of time had also altered the lives of his former allies: Erik Mendilibar eventually ascended to become the King of the Mendilibar Dynasty, while Golan became a guild leader. His former comrade, the priestess and healer, eventually rose to lead her religious order's clergy and married King Erik.
Seeking to escape the burdens of nobility and the pressures of his new status, Luck attempted to restart his career as an adventurer under the name Lock Franzen. His new life brought him into contact with new figures, such as the werewolf hunter Sia Wolcott, and even led him to become a familiar to the Chicken God, a sacred beast capable of detecting time warps. During his new journey, he also encountered Celliss Morton, the daughter of Golan, and assisted a young apprentice mage during a quest to eliminate goblins.
